Parents play an important role in promoting healthy brain development and creating the foundation for strong relationships. Mindful Moments teaches parents and their children mindfulness skills and principles to help manage strong emotions and reduce the likelihood of impulsive behaviour and mental health concerns. Empowering parents with mindfulness skills improves their ability to manage stressful situations which further stabilizes the home environment while teaching positive and supportive parenting skills improves mental wellness and builds healthy, strong families and communities.
The Mindful Moments program offers a group session once a week for parents while their children participate in similar sessions running parallel. The paired sessions ensure that parents and children learn the same skills and can apply them at home together.
