We are committed to sharing the changemakers who help empower our organization with you through our We Are YW series. This month, we wanted to highlight one of our incredible board members, Pritma Dhillon Chattha. A deeply involved member of our community, Pritma is a Yale educated nurse executive and award-winning serial entrepreneur who we could not be more proud.

With 18 years of experience helping patients both at the bedside and in the boardroom, and a wealth of expertise in health informatics, Pritma co-founded Lavender which received the 2021 American Nurses Association Innovation Award. With a goal of creating therapeutic journeys that are based in kindness, convenience, and transparency, Lavender aims to help people flourish through their online psychiatry services and therapy from their New York-based offices.

In addition to her incredible work in this field, she serves as adjunct faculty at the University of Victoria and the University of Calgary. She is also a co-host of the University of Calgary’s Now Innovating, a Research to Impact podcast. This podcast is reflective of the cultural shift within the University of Calgary toward innovation and entrepreneurial thinking and aims to inspire researchers and community members to take discoveries and transform them into solutions, products, and services.

In addition to all this amazing work, Pritma is a member of the American Nurses Association Innovation Advisory Council and is particularly passionate about advocating for the profession of nursing to advance access to timely mental health care. Mental health remains at the forefront of the work YW Calgary does in our community, so having someone like Pritma join our Board and lend her expertise is invaluable.
