Our 14th annual YW WALK A MILE IN HER SHOES® is a fun and light-hearted event addressing a serious issue that impacts far too many families in our community – domestic abuse. By registering as a team or individually, men, women and children will walk a marathon-style path in high heels or shoes of their choice. Participants raise funds that provide both services and support to women and their children who are fleeing domestic abuse.
This year, we hope to raise more than $200,000 with over 300 participants. New this year, the event will be held away from the downtown core at a new location: Southcentre Mall on Sunday Sept. 15! We are making the move in order to welcome a broader audience to the event and extend our reach into the community.
With your help, we can break the cycle of violence for women and their children. Safe communities and healthy families creates brighter futures for all.
