Privacy Statement
YWCA collects, uses and discloses personal information as authorized or permitted by Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and other applicable laws, including for purposes that are reasonable for the delivery of its programs and services, the protection of YWCA property and the safety of all occupants.
Notification and Consent
YWCA obtains your consent, with some exceptions, in writing or orally, to collect, use and disclose your personal information. You may withdraw or change your consent at any time, but this may result in YWCA having to change or terminate the services provided to you.

Access and Correction
You have a right to access and request correction to your personal information in YWCA’s custody and control, subject to some exceptions as per PIPA and other applicable laws.

For the best experience, submit all requests using our online form and provide as much detail as possible to help prevent delays in processing your request. Requests by guardians or third parties on behalf of someone must include supporting documentation such as a court order or release of information.
Safeguarding and Destruction
YWCA is committed to safeguarding your personal information and uses administrative (e.g., YWCA Privacy Policy), physical (e.g., locks, shredding of documents) and technical (e.g., antivirus software, firewalls, passwords) controls to safeguard your personal information. YWCA only retains your personal information for as long as is reasonable and then securely destroys it.
