Marg Southern understands the importance of sports and recreation.
A University of Alberta graduate in Physical Education in the 1950s, Marg became the first female physical education instructor at the University of Calgary. At the same time, she was a founder and long-time member of Calgary’s first Parks and Recreation Board, and was instrumental in establishing Fish Creek Park.
In the mid-1970s Marg’s passion for equestrian sports prompted her to co-found the internationally renowned Spruce Meadows.
