Project Description

Eva Adeline Reid started in the newspaper business as the circulation manager of the Social Credit Chronicle in the mid-1930s, but soon began to pen a regular column in the paper.
After the Chronicle was sold to the Albertan in 1937, Eva was named provincial editor and worked as the women’s editor and the police/court reporter in the years to follow. For two decades prior to her retirement in 1980 at the age of 74, Eva produced a thrice-weekly social column for the Albertan called “Eavesdrop with Eva.”
