Project Description

1997

Gayla Rogers has influenced social work in Calgary more than any other person. As Professor, Dean and now Dean Emeritus of the Faculty of Social Work at the University of Calgary, Dr. Rogers has forged connections between school and community. Her approach links classroom and research with community issues such as poverty, domestic violence, mental health and addictions. Beyond her academic leadership, Gayla has given her time to countless local organizations, serving on multiple boards and serving on Alberta’s Child & Family Services Council for Quality Assurance.
