Project Description

Barb Scott worked hard for her constituents. Elected as an Alderman in 1971, Barb long held the record for the longest tenure of an elected in Calgary, serving until her retirement in 1995. Representing a downtown ward, with all its attendant challenges, Barb was an effective champion for vulnerable populations. She mobilized community support to create safe houses for street teens, health and dental clinics for homeless people and worked to reduce or eliminate barriers for mobility impaired people.
