Project Description

Amanda Burgener asked an important question that got the whole city talking.
A successful small business owner, mother and community volunteer, in mid-2015 Amanda, who herself is Metis tweeted at city politicians about renaming Calgary’s Langevin Bridge and School, named after one of the architects of Canada’s residential school system. Her question ignited widespread discussion and resulted in the city changing the name of the bridge to Reconciliation Bridge in January of 2017.
