NAOMI JUDD TO SHARE HER STORY OF RESILIENCE AND OPTIMISM AT

THE 3rd ANNUAL YWCA WHYWHISPER FUNDRAISING GALA

The YWCA of Calgary provides emergency shelter, housing, counselling and skills to women who are struggling with poverty, homelessness, family violence and social exclusion. The annual YWCA WHYWHISPER Fundraising Gala presented by Enbridge Inc. elevates the voice of women and proceeds raised at the event go towards support programs and services which help to empower women and their families to lead stronger, healthier lives.

Naomi Judd will share her story of resilience and optimism as the keynote speaker of the 3rd annual YWCA WHYWHISPER Fundraising Gala. Although most know her as half of the dynamic and successful mother/daughter country duo, The Judds, Naomi’s personal life has been one of adversity. From her times as an impoverished single mother to her battle with a potentially fatal liver disease, she has become a strong advocate for women, healthy families, and thriving communities. Naomi illustrates the resourcefulness, bravery and strength a woman is capable of; much like the vulnerable women the YWCA supports every day.

“Having Naomi Judd as our keynote speaker is a true honour,” said Sue Tomney, CEO, YWCA of Calgary. “Her strong connection to the YWCA’s vision of women thriving in a safe and equitable community makes her a natural fit for this event and a reminder of the bravery we see every day in the women we support.”
