YW Calgary celebrates the opening of the YW Little Free Library

CALGARY, July 4, 2017 – YW Calgary is proud to announce the launch of the YW Little Free Library. Join us for the unveiling of the library taking place Tuesday, July 4 at 1:00 p.m. at 320 – 5th Avenue SE.

“The YW Little Free Library is a community book exchange accessible for everyone who is interested in taking a book to read or dropping off books they have already read and no longer need” says Sue Tomney, CEO of YW Calgary. “The library provides opportunities for the community to connect and learn as we continue to grow together.”

The YW Little Free Library project was completed by as part of the new YW Women’s Employment Program which works with women on developing employability skills and active work search. With a strong focus on women’s empowerment, Employment Resource Centre helps women building self- confidence, resiliency and self-sufficiency with an emphasis on the value of community.

The YW Little Free Library offers literacy supports in the community and provides opportunities for the community to engage and interact to develop stronger community relationships. As the largest and longest women’s serving organization in Calgary, YW Calgary is committed to empowering and supporting women and their families to live healthy and thriving lives in the community.

YW Little Free Library is open to the community. Everyone is welcome to attend the unveiling and contribute to the YW Little Free Library.
