YWCA is thrilled to celebrate more than 30th year in the Inglewood community! For the last three decades, the YWCA Sheriff King Home has provided emergency shelter, counselling and personal development programs for women and their families.

We’re grateful to a strong community of caring which makes our work possible and, as communities across Calgary celebrate Neighbour Day later this month, we want to get in on the action.

We invite Calgarians to join us on Saturday, June 18, from noon – 3 p.m. in the back parking lot at YWCA Sheriff King Home, 2003 16th Street S.E.

Neighbour Day commemorates the 2013 flood and celebrates the neighbourly spirit Calgarian’s demonstrated during those scary and inspiring days. The Calgary community is known for being friendly and hospitable to neighbours and visitors alike; Neighbour Day is simply another example. Neighbour Day is about building community in Calgary, getting together to have fun with friends, family and community members to celebrate our city.

The YWCA is excited to host its Neighbour Day party in Inglewood, the oldest community in Calgary. Inglewood is a diverse and exciting district in Calgary known for its arts, culture and friendly neighbourhood.

On June 18, YWCA staff, volunteers, donors and community members cam walk, ride or take transit and join us to share a Spolumbo’s sausage or Café Rosso coffee and have some fun. There will be family friendly activities happening throughout the afternoon with Kool & Wild on scene to provide music and entertainment for the guests.

We’ll also be offering limited tours of YWCA Sheriff King Home led by our talented program staff who work so compassionately each day to support women and their families to find healthier ways forward.

Bring the whole family and participate in all the activities we have planned for the day! The YWCA is a proud community member of Inglewood and thrilled to celebrate what makes the Calgary community so unique with our community.

Come visit us on June 18 and let’s celebrate!
