We are Mindful Moments, an evidence-based mindfulness program for parents/caregivers and their children, aged 8-12 years old. The program is intended to help families:

  • Respond less reactively to stress
  • Develop compassion and empathy
  • Tolerate difficult emotions
  • Improve conflict resolution skills
  • Fully experience the joys and difficulties of family life
  • Develop a stronger bond between parents and children

Research shows that one of the biggest indicators of change for children is the involvement of their parents/caregivers. Parents/caregivers will learn concepts and strategies to enable and support skill development for their children.

Over the course of this free, eight week program parents/caregivers learn how to manage their emotions and behaviours more effectively using mindfulness skills at home, at work and beyond!  Participants are taught how and when to use mindfulness skills to cope when challenging situations arise and by learning strategies to manage stressful situations more effectively, participants build stronger family relationships. Participants are provided with new strategies each week and are encouraged to engage in mindfulness practice between sessions.
