The YWCA provides education and employment skills training for new Canadians, as well as women struggling with employment challenges, in order to help reduce poverty or feelings of isolation, while increasing social inclusion. Other training and resources offer support and guidance to combat discrimination, poverty, employment difficulties, as well as parenting and child development, through life skills counselling and workshops.
Education & Employment
Empowerment begins with confidence and comfort.
Language Instruction for Newcomers (LINC) is fully funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada and affords immigrants to Canada valuable insights into Canadian culture and the Calgary community while developing the language skills needed for daily life and successful integration. Learners may study in part-time or in full-time classes.
